Note, there is more than one way to sweep addresses, including from inside FreeWallet itself. This is just the way I chose to do it.

In FreeWallet, Click on “Address Actions” and then “View Private Key”. Copy this key and paste it in a document or write it down by hand. Note, this is a temporary action. Do not save the document unless you are sure it will remain secure.

Next, click on “Address Actions” again but this time choose “Change Address”. Choose a second address with Bitcoin that you want to consolidate. Copy that wallet’s private key and save as you did above.

You now have at least two private keys copied somewhere.

Download Electrum from https://electrum.org/. Note — ensure you are on the correct web site for Electrum! There are scam sites out there.

When you open Electrum, the Install Wizard will set up a brand new wallet address. Click “Next”

Leave it on the default “Standard wallet” and click “Next”

Again, leave it on the default and click “Next”

These are the seed words for your new Electrum Bitcoin wallet. Copy these down and store them safely. Heed the provided warning!

Prove that you wrote down your words by typing them back into Electrum.

Set a local password to protect your wallet from being used on your device without your permission (optional).

Your new Electrum Bitcoin Wallet address is now set up. Note the default display in Electrum is Milibitcoin meaning that the displayed amount is to the thousandth. For example — 0.001 BTC will be displayed as 1.0 mBTC. I personally, do not like this view so I went to Tools/Preferences and changed the Base unit from mBTC to BTC.

To “sweep” the bitcoin balance from your various wallets into the one new wallet address you just created click on Wallet/Private keys/Sweep.

Paste your private key(s) into the box and click “Sweep”

Electrum will sum up the balance of all the wallets you provided keys for, subtract out the Mining fee, and send the balance to your Electrum Wallet address.

The final (optional) step is to send the bitcoin in the Electrum wallet back to your main FreeWallet address.
